Hypnosis Myth #2: People can reveal secrets under Hypnosis

A client is fully under control during hypnosis and has the power to choose what he says during hypnosis. Any event the client may regress to during hypnosis will be told to the hypnotist only if the client wishes to. In fact the client can even lie under hypnosis – though as therapists we advise against it because lies simply make healing unnecessarily diffult. The subconscious mind is about 6000 times more powerful than the conscious mind and it can spin lies in fractions of seconds. The client is always under control during hypnosis and can choose hide any memories that he does not feel like sharing with the therapist.

  1. Well, that’s an interesting point of view. If the client is in a deep enough state, he really doesn’t have that much control over thoughts or sensations. The medium-deep state of Hypnosis is the one in which surgery can be performed, so you know how deep that state must be.

Thanks for sharing your point of view !
